These are natural stones. Although we may only know sapphires from their most expensive prized blue color, they come in a variety of colors. Theses sapphire a typically considered "lower quality" because of their inclusions, low clarity, and color, however how could you not find these to be so juicy and yummy! I think it adds to the character and fits perfect with the organic look of the shape and choice of metal.
